Westboro Baptists to picket Heath's funeral

Here's something interesting. Can you believe? Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church plans to picket Heath Ledger's funeral because of his involvement in the film, "Brokeback Mountain."

Just from reading a few lines from it, it's obvious it is filled with hate. (Photo source: Towleroad.com)

Here's an excerpt:

"...God Hates Fags! & Fag Enablers! Ergo, God hates the sordid tacky, bucket of slime seasoned with vomit known as 'Brokeback Mountain' - and He hates all persons having anything whatsoever to do with it. Heath Ledger is now in Hell, and has begun serving his eternal sentence there..."

Apparently, they have done this sort of thing before. According to Towleroad.com, they have picketed a U.S. soldier's funeral claiming that the deaths of U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are God's wrath against a nation that tolerates homosexuality.

What the? I think that's nuts.

"Brokeback Mountain" star, dead at 28

Heath Ledger was found dead last Tuesday, CNN reports. Cause of death is possible drug overdose. It is yet to be confirmed. Police say they do not suspect foul play.

"Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life, but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him," his father said.

My condolences to Heath's family.
