Prophecies of Doomsday, Apocalypse, End of the World, or whatever you call it, has been around since man existed. The last one I heard of was the Y2K thing. Well, it's already 2008 and we're still here. Now, I hear that the next Doomsday Prophecy is on December 21, 2012.
I am intrigued by this. I don't necessarily believe it. I want to understand it.
In an article I read in ViewzOne.com, the writer tried to explain what will happen on that date in simple terms. I'll try to summarize it in this post.

The day after the wedding. One of the bridesmaids who is also my friend, celebrated his son's baptism before they returned to Guam. Here are the pics.
I posted previously about my friend who had her wedding here. I promised last time to post pics of the dinner out. Check out the pics.

This little electronic device's makers claim that it eliminates outside noise from your phone call.
Well, I have no particular use for this kind of technology.
However, the commercial is interesting and funny.
(Disclaimer: If you don't like the sight of a couple of guys kissing, then you shouldn't watch.)
Photo of a gay-bashed man wins award
A photo of a bleeding man won second place at the World Press Photo of the Year. The picture was taken in Budapest, Hungary. The couple are waiting for medical help after being victims of anti-gay violence. The category is "Contemporary Issue."
The winner is a photo of an American soldier resting at bunker in Afghanistan.
In a recent article on W Magazine, the two actresses talk about their latest
movie together, "The Other Boleyn Girl". They also shared a little something about gay marriage.
Here's an excerpt:
"'I’m into monogamy,' says Portman. 'But I’m not really into marriage right now. I sort of hate the legal aspect of it. What does the state have to do with it? Why are they making rules that say my lover can stay in the United States if they’re foreign or share my health care benefits because I’m straight'—here her eyes flash with horror—'but if you’re gay, you can’t have that?'...'It’s so archaic,' Johansson agrees. 'It’s just, like, bizarre to me. I feel like in 10 or 15 years' time our children are going to look back and say, 'What? You were around when gay people weren’t allowed to get married?''"
I hear you girls. I believe it's just a matter of time. We'll get there. If not now, soon. It's inevitable.
"Some people are gay. Get over it!"
According to Joemygod, the UK rights group, Stonewall, will post 600 billboards around the UK with this message.
The message is straightforward and direct. My kind of message.
This annoys the hell out of me. I hear many people pronounce words with 'ir' in them as 'eer'. Like in the words firm and stir. It should be pronounced like the 'ir' in the word 'bird'.
I hear this from those who should know the correct way to say it. Politicians, reporters and English Teachers even.
For a country priding itself for a large number of English-speaking citizens, It's embarassing.
It is being passed on to the young ones. I know it shouldn't be a big deal. It's just a word. But it really annoys the hell out of me.
Again. 'ir' is pronounced 'er' not 'eer'. Do you pronounce 'bird' as 'beerd'? Doesn't sound right, does it?
Firm is pronounced 'ferm', not 'feerm'. Stir is pronounced 'ster', not 'steer'. Do you 'steer' your coffee? Are you driving your coffee somewhere for you to 'steer' it?
Drinks have stirring rods. It's the gondolas in Venice that have steering rods.

I was at a client's factory this afternoon. There I saw a man, who I assume to be one of the stockholders or at least the husband of one. With him are his pet monkeys. A mother and offspring. He had the mother on a chain leash.
I don't know if I'm going to be amazed (because he has an exotic pet) or be appalled (because the monkey is on a leash which makes me feel sad for it). Maybe this man is very proud because he can get to show off his exotic pet. But does he care that he has a living thing on a leash?
I'm thinking. Why did seeing this monkey on a leash spurred a feeling? What's the difference between a monkey on a leash and a dog on a leash?
It makes me wonder. Is having a pet humane or cruel? Pets are held captive by its owners.
I don't want to be hypocritical. I have pets too. Dogs and hamsters. The dogs have leashes and kennels. The hamsters are in a terrarium. I take care of them as best I could. But still they are in captivity. Am I cruel?
I am going to feature something from Youtube. Actually, it's not the video I want to feature, it's the song I would like to share. Although the video is good too.
BT is one of my favorite music artists. In one of his albums, he had this song, "Force of Gravity". It is originally an upbeat track. It featured the voice of former N'Sync member JC Chasez. (Sidebar: Has N'Sync officially disbanded? Well, whatever.)
Christian Rusch remixed it beautifully. The vocals really stood out and gave the song its presence. Anyway, listen while watching the picture show. It's good. At the least, it's not disappointing.
The song is really hard to find. I hope an mp3 format of it is available.

Before anything else, Kung Hei Fat Choi to everyone, especially to my Chinese brothers and sisters, here and around the world.
I know, I know. It has been weeks again since my last post. The usual excuses apply. I have lots of work to do. Lots of gimiks to attend to. Writer's block. Pick one or just pick all of the above.
This post will be the summary of those I have been up to while I was away. So what kept me busy these past few weeks. Well, work (that's a given) and gimiks.
